Resurrection Lilies

These resurrection lilies or as my husband calls them, naked ladies, come up this time of year without any greenery. The leaves come up in the springtime and one day in August these lovely, delicate flowers just show up all prim and proper. We have a lot of them and this year they are about 36" tall and full of wonderful color and mystery. They form a circle of blooms shared by one elegant, long stem. You'll see more of them in tomorrows post. I just loved the light and dark combined on the bloom, it makes it so captivating don't you think?
