If you have no idea what is pictured to the right then I hope you are curious about it. It is the fruit of the dogwood. Actually the center of the flower that turns into this bright red globe like sphere of wonderment - yes, that's what the word is all about. I just love these fruits and once they drop the leaves, it gets larger and resembles a nice bumpy heart shape making it only more intriguing. I especially like the direction of the grass in this photo giving the fruit a little more emphasis on its unusual shape, don't you agree?
