Phlox Up Close

Another great day and a closer view of both the swallowtail and phlox flower. I love this shot because you can see the butterflies proboscis (tongue) that retrieves the nectar. Can you see the little moisture drops on it? Pretty fascinating isn't it? I love studying about the insects I render and learning all I can. It gives my artwork a little more credibility when you know exactly what is going on with the specimen. Take a closer look the next time you get the chance, mother nature is just captivating!
