Exciting News - Life Book 2014

I was incredibly blessed to be a part of Life Book 2013 sharing three projects along the artful journey. Not only were the students art pieces remarkably beautiful, but I love how the lessons just opened the door to creativity beyond my imagination. The supportive community was another item I was impressed with. The way they shared comments, encouraged others, helped when needed - it is truly an amazing journey into your art process and I do hope you are joining us for 2014.

I am once again teaching *yes, I am pinching myself* with 21 other brilliant instructors of all mediums. I am able to give away one spot for Life Book 2014, so leave me a comment on "what winning would mean to you" and you will automatically be entered. I will be drawing the winner randomly on September 30th, good luck!!

Here are the blogs you can visit for a chance to win a free spot in Life Book 2014, good luck.

  27. Omgosh! What a wonderful treat to win this class. I am at a transition stage in life. The last few years I have lost myself to challenges I have had to take on, raising another generation of family, and try to keep a smile to protect the little ones involved from the uglies in life they have witnessed. Through these last 5 or so years, I feel like I've lost myself, truly. A class called "Life Book" screams to me! It would give me permission to take time out to maybe find that girl I've hid behind life's responsibilities that have blocked my true self. What a wonderful experience it must be. And big congrats to you, Kelly, on your every growing artistic endeavors! That is awesome. :)

  29. I remember when Tam first announced that she was going to start Life Book. Ever since, I've dreamed of being able to take the course. I didn't have a computer, high speed internet or the money to take it before. Now I have the first 2, but money can be an issue with all of my medical expenses. Winning for me would mean being able to live my dream for an entire year. It would mean learning from some of the most talented artists out there. It would mean I would have a chance to learn and grow as a person and as an artist. It would mean embarking upon a wondrous journey, an adventure I can't wait to have. Wendy

  34. well no doubt about it, I have been contemplating registering...but that's as far as I got....contemplating!!! Of course if I won, then I'd be contemplating no more...and that would be a good thing! And then I'd be a very happy camper taking the course...so its a win win all round!

  35. Winning would me the world to me! I am already such a big fan of the work of most of the teachers on the list.. It amazes me that such talent could be offered to be shared in one place, and the cost is so affordable for what is offered. However with four children, one getting ready to get his license and the other "almost" out of diapers, it is tough enough to scrap together the funds needed for school trips. We are still playing catch up from my husbands 2 yr unemployment, so any "extras" are just pipe dreams.... for me winning a spot would be the opportunity to learn from the leaders in the craft. To do something for me and way to de-stress. AMAZING is the only word that comes to mind,

  87. "WINNING", every since the Charlie S. craziness the word has had a bad rap! Getting this chance for a year long class from amazing and creative artists will once again change the word for me. 89. Hi, Kelly! Congratulations on being invited back as a Life Book 2014 instructor! I love the way you incorporate nature and animals into your work. I would love to win because it would be a true gift to me. I am going through a major transition in life. I just put some big health issues behind me and I'm going back to school to follow my calling to become a coach. It is a deep, thrilling, emotional journey, and I am afraid that I am going to fall into the trap of concentrating only on school and not allowing myself time to make art. Winning a spot in Life Book 2014 would mean that I would be able to create some room for a regular art practice, in the midst of my journey. It would mean being able to turn off that tape player in my head of all the things I "should" be doing, and just let go and create. To get in the flow - in the zone! - and recharge my batteries. It would mean being able to remind myself how important it is to me TO create and TO allow myself time to recharge in the midst of change. It would also mean having a terrific opportunity to capture moments along the way as I grow into my calling. And I would love the community and interaction and inspiration from the other students as well. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win. Best wishes and blessings to you and whomever you choose! ♥

Winning a spot for the Life Book 2014 class would mean more to me than even I can currently imagine. I am battling with my own inner perfectionism issues and self doubts. Learning new techniques to build a solid foundation, as well as lessons on nurturing myself -- I think these combined could have a powerful impact on finally releasing my inner artist and returning me to the wonderful, free child art I once was many moons ago!.

  113. I am SO glad to hear that you will be a part of Life Book again. I SO enjoyed your lessons. Winning a spot in Life Book 2014 would mean that I get another GREAT year of exploring different techniques, different instructors and another chance to continue to battle the "You Can't" demons on a weekly basis!

  115. I would love love to. Just discovered drawing (again, last time was my very early childhood). Following a lovely monthly course where I learn to work with all kinds of materials. This would be a great complement to it. Feel like there is a whole new world. Read somewhere a few weeks ago, from a teacher answering her little daughters question: ‘What she was doing for her job.’ ‘Learning people to draw.’ was the answer. ‘Did they forget?’ the kid replied. Just how I feel about my drawing. Had to be like this, like that, and drawing like the course shows, wasn’t what teachers expected, so I sort of started disliking drawing. And drawing like the course says is what I wanted, wow.

  117. Being creative disconnects my brain and engages my soul. It lets time stop. It lets me channel my joy, pain, happiness, anger and sadness. I can process thoughts and feelings that my logical brain just can’t understand.
I could never understand the idea of meditating in the traditional sense… sitting quietly and breathing… but art is my meditation. My bliss.
This year was tough... but amazing. Healing has begun after much trauma and to continue I need to submerge myself in my bliss, take time to reflect and to slow down. LB 2014 will do just that. Pushing me each week to be creative while in a supportive community.

  121. An opportunity to grow in my art is all that I want. My sense of colour is terrible and I need help with it so much. Once I get that under my belt so to speak I hope I can go on to improve in all areas of art that I so enjoy.

  122. Oh, it would be the best birthday present ever! My birthday is September 30th :-) It would mean so much to me to be able to learn from such amazing artists, to be able to try out new things, be inspired, be in a community of like-minded. Just sounds amazing to me. It would help me grow and evolve! And be creative at a regular basis. And incorporate new ideas into my life and business - where I sell handmade buttons. It would be a dream come true.

  123. Hello Kelly,

Winning would be great because I only made one online class before but it was such a great experience that it would be awesome to have the chance to be part of another one. The one I did really helped me to be more self-confident and to dare doing things. Life book looks great because it is long and regular and the teachers line-up is amazing. Thanks a lot for this give away!

  136. Winning to me would mean finding the opportunity to work on finding my ability to express myself in pictures instead of just words. Sometimes I find that writing out the words is too concrete and doesn't help me release the emotion I feel as I write them. I would like to learn to channel those emotions into meaningful artwork
